They met in Hermosa Beach...

But the whole thing really started long before that.

You see, they were born and raised 328.5 miles apart (Adam 4 months before Morgan) both on meat, potatoes and good Midwestern values. Just ask their parents.

In 2002, at the ripe ages of 18, they both unknowingly migrated West. Adam went off to play football at the Air Force Academy, exactly 97.2 miles away from the University of Colorado where Morgan went off to just...play. (Colleen & Marty: she swears she was totally studying.) And they each remained in Colorado for almost exactly the same amount of time. Never meeting, of course. Adam graduated and stayed in Colorado Springs to coach the Air Force football team and Morgan graduated, taking a job as a yawn-plagued accountant in Denver.

This symbiotic migration pattern continued and they both headed South, this time with more miles between them.

Adam moved to Cocoa Beach, FL (Adam wants you to know that Cocoa Beach, FL is Kelly Slater's home town. And if you don't know who Kelly Slater is, you should Google him before the wedding.) Morgan quit her very safe and secure accounting job, packed her bags and moved to South America for 2.5 years. 

The Northeasterlies blew, sending them both to California

They end up landing in Hermosa Beach within 6 months of each other -- this time with only 1/2 mile between their apartments. 

On a warm June Saturday in 2012, they met at the 8th St. volleyball court. They sang TV karaoke, ate dinner with mutual friends, raced bikes uphill. Morgan pretended to like Pearl Jam to impress Adam. Adam PRETENDED TO LIKE KALE AND YOGA to get Morgan's phone number. It worked. But ultimately, it was Adam's uncanny resemblance to Patrick Swayze that piqued Morgan's interest. See below.

They went on their first official date to some Indian restaurant (neither of them can remember the name of it). A few weeks later Adam bought a last minute ticket to Wisconsin, and bravely boarded a plane to meet Morgan's entire extended family for their legendary 2nd date.

Morgan taught Adam how to surf. Adam taught Morgan how to sit and watch an entire Air Force football game.

They went to Panama. They took a surf trip down HWY 1 in a Juicy Van and surfed 10 times in 5 days. They went to Mexico. They went back to Wisconsin. They crossed "surf and ski in the same day" off the bucket list. They went to Hawaii with the Buehler's. They moved into a little blue house on Loma Drive. They made a lot of amazing friends. They went back to Wisconsin again to relive their 2nd date. They went back to Mexico. They moved into an apartment on the beach in Redondo where they can check the waves in their underwear. (Which is pretty much everything in life.) 

They fell in love.
